Terms and Conditions – Membership, Court Hire, Sales and Services
Badminton Geelong (BG) members must thoroughly review all our Terms and Conditions before using the facility. These Terms and Conditions are designed to allow all members to enjoy the sport in a way that will be safe, productive, inclusive, fair, and provide all members equal opportunity.
BG management reserves the right to vary and revoke these Terms and Conditions from time to time in addition to make, vary and revoke by-laws which may be considered necessary or desirable for the regulation of the internal affairs of BG and the conduct of the participants. Any such changes will be notified to participants immediately.
General
1. Patrons must be willing to show membership details or provide identification as verification for staff if requested
2. Patrons must behave appropriately and follow the lawful direction of Badminton Geelong staff
3. Derogatory comments, abusive language, harassment, inappropriate or disruptive behaviour against staff or other patrons will not be tolerated and may result in offenders being asked to leave the premises plus face further club sanctions
4. Parental consent is required to join as a member under the age of 18 and a proof of age document will need to be supplied
5. Badminton Geelong are not responsible for lost or stolen items
6. Pets are not permitted in the centre. Service Animals are permitted when assisting handlers. 7. Patrons are not to carry out commercial operations within the Badminton Stadium unless written consent is provided and approved by the BG management. Commercial operations are any formal or informal arrangement where consideration (monetary or otherwise) is received for exchange of services, products or actions carried out in the centre 8. Non-marking soled sports or badminton shoes must be worn while playing on the courts 9. Sports wear must be worn at all times on the badminton courts
10. The lounge or courtside areas are not to be used for getting changed, use the allocated change room / bathrooms to get dressed and undressed
11. Adhere to all Policies of Badminton Geelong. Policies are located on our website as they are created and updated.
12. No refund will be provided if a member decides to cancel their membership during the term of their membership
13. Insurance and Badminton Victoria events can be accessed until the month of March each year without Badminton Geelong Membership renewal on 1 January of that year, however court hire and other membership discounts will not be accessible until BG Membership is paid in full each year
14. In no case shall BG, our directors, officers, or employees, affiliates, or suppliers be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including, replacement costs, or any similar damages, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, arising from your use of any of service or any products procured using the service, or for any other claim related in any way to your use of the service or any product, including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions in any content, or any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of the service or any content (or product) posted, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the service, even if advised of their possibility. Some states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or the limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, in such states or jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Court Bookings
1. Court bookings are subject to Cancellation Fees. To be eligible for a full refund, cancellation must be done 24 hours prior to the booking.
2. The court booking is deemed confirmed only after a BG staff member either contacts the member personally or the member receives a confirmation of booking via the online booking system
3. A member who has booked a court must be present and playing during booking timings, BG Staff can request a Verification of Membership at any time for validation purposes 4. Recurring bookings (with the exception of schools) can have a maximum term of 1 calendar month at a time, payment of the recurring booking must be paid in advance
5. Junior members under the age of 16 must be supervised by their parents, guardians, or BG coaching staff at all times during the booking slots
6. Non-members under the age of 18 must be supervised by their parents, guardians, or BG coaching staff at all times during the booking slots
7. Inability to finish play at the designated time will bring about extra charges at a half – hourly rate. In the event that the court is empty, clients might expand the booking by a half – hourly rate for the rest of their planned time.
Coaching
1. Only authorised coaches of Geelong Badminton Academy (GBA) and / or Badminton Geelong (BG) are permitted to provide any type of Badminton Coaching on the Badminton Geelong Courts. No other persons or third party may provide any form of Badminton Coaching at BG Centre at any time. School teachers (during school bookings) are the only exception.
2. Players and non-BGI / GBA coaches found to be engaged in coaching activities (without the express consent of management) are liable for sanctions including being asked to leave without refund, and the revoking of membership. Tournament players / coaches will be exempt from this clause.
3. Qualified coaches of GBA and/or BG will be provided based on the request or level / grade / experience of the member.
Pro Shop
1. Prices for our products and services are subject to change without notice. 2. Members will be offered discount on select products
3. Price matching will not be available
4. Orders for non-stocked items must be prepaid
5. Refunds are subject to the discretion of management
6. We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue the service (or any part or content thereof) without notice at any time.
7. We shall not be liable to you or to any third-party for any modification, price change, suspension, or discontinuance of the service.
8. We do not warrant that the quality of any products, services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you will meet your expectations and advise all consumers to seek independent advice on appropriateness of products, materials and confirmation on bookings.
9. Restringing services may be accepted or rejected by staff based on the condition of the racquet and risk of damage during the restringing process. A condition report may be conducted prior to works and an acceptance of the conditions will need to be signed prior to undertaking the service.
